Progression of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)
In 2001 the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001(Senda Act) was passed. Consequently, in September 2002 the DDA 1995 was extended so that all schools, colleges, universities and providers of adult education and youth services are required to ensure that they do not discriminate against disabled people (DDA Part 4).
